Learn to make a free-form heart using heavy gauge wire then embellish it with fine gauge wire wrapping and Swarovski crystals.  Fresh water pearls dangle from hand-made eye pins with wrapped loops.  The kit ($19.50) contains 18" of vintage style sturdy chain, 3 gauges of wire, Swarovski crystals, fresh water pearls, and jump rings.  This is an all levels class.  Class is limited to 10 people. Fun With Filigrees with Julia Hecht

In this class you will create jewelry using filigrees and vintage-inspired metal components. You can choose to design everything from simple earrings to elaborate necklaces. The classes will include cold connections, such as riveting and wrapped loops, manipulating the filigrees into settings, and layering with crystals and decorative glass beads. We will also work on design concepts using mixed metals, custom components, and chain segments. With samples, ideas and demonstrations of technique, each participant will be able to design and complete one or more custom pieces.

Learn the ancient art of Japanese braiding with the portable, modern Kumihimo disc. Weave a fiber necklace in a distinct spiral pattern, tie off and finish with findings - great for hanging beadwork. With the basic technique mastered in session one, we will use session 2 to weave with beads on every strand and create a fully beaded bracelet. This class will introduce the herringbone weave technique using thin gauge wire to frame a lovely rondelle.  Also included is instruction on making jump rings, wrapped loops, head pins, and a a clasp.  Appropriate for beginners who want to try their hand at wire, as well as experienced twisters who want to expand their repertoire of techniques.

The intricate patterns of the cornerless cube beads that will be created in this class suggest the tiles found in the Alhambra, a Moorish palace and fortress in Granada, Spain, which contains some of the world's most well-known tiles.  Students will learn to make a cornerless cube and to create patterns within the squares and triangles that form it.  Several patterns are included with the instructions.

Milagro Chain a one session intro to wirework with metal artisan, Susan Skinner. She will teach how to make wrapped loops and links, spirals, and embellishments, as well as a unique clasp. The Y chain you will make can be used to make a traditional rosary, or changed up with milagros, or your own beaded medallion. If you've thought about trying your hand at wire, this is the class for you.
